Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust, which was founded in the year 1993 has established as a Public charitable Trust and started Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital in the year 2007, Karpaga Vinayaga Institute Medical Sciences and Hospital in the year 2009, and Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Nursing in the year 2010. The Medical College is having intake capacity of 100 Under Graduate, 28 Post Graduate and has 650 bedded Hospital, Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences is having the intake capacity of 100 Under Graduate and Karpaga Vinayaga College of Nursing is having the intake capacity of 100 Under Graduate and 25 Post Graduate and Karpaga Vinayaga Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences is having the intake capacity of 60 Under Graduate. The above said institutions are serving in the Society since 2007.
About the Trust
The Trust namely the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust was over the year since 1993. At established in the year 1993 with registered office at No.106, New No.4, Dr. Ambedkar Road, Kodambakkam, Chennai – 600 024 became synonymous with quality in Higher Education, meet the academic challenges and instil the spirit of research and innovation among the youth. The Trust works with Mission to uphold the social values of community educationally empowering the youth of tutoring them for professional attitude and aptitude, exposing them modern advancements in academics, there by allocation poverty it areas surrounding as a educational institution these by allocation poverty is which would help it has vision of all round development of the society by providing education of global standards, thus bringing about emancipation in the younger minds through knowledge and wisdom.
About the Trustee
Mr. S. Valliappan, Please give a bit of back ground educational qualification professional expense was the first Managing Trustee, he still continuous to be one of the trustee, Mrs. Saroja Regupathy, a well-known philanthropist and a versatile visionary is Managing Trustee. The Trust operated under the frame work of the corporate station under the department guidance of its Managing Trustee. She serves as the Administrative Head of the Trust. The astounding growth of the Trust can be ascribed to the Managing Director of the Trust, is Dr. R. Annamalai who is an Orthopaedic surgeon extremely proficient in his field of work and has brought under its fold a plethora of educational institutions, especially the Medical College, Dental and Nursing Colleges. The Trust also runs the Karpaga Vinayaga Engineering College. Dr. (Mrs.) Kavitha Subramanian who possesses Doctorate degree and is presently functioning as a Professor of Management Studies has contributed wholeheartedly in the growth of the Trust and its activities. Mr. N. Subramanian, a reputed administrative person, lawyer by education is the Secretary of the Trust and takes care of the legal issues of Trust operations. He is the main pillar in growth of JJ College of arts and sciences, which is now an Autonomous college and aggregated by NAAC with highest status in its 3rd cycle.
Aims and Objectives of the Sponsoring Trust
The Trust was formed to establish institutes Higher Education in various disciplines to impart higher education which would inspire excellence and propel innovativeness, in various branches of sciences which would suit the Post-Graduation and Research Degree courses of a University.
The specific aims are:
Those areas of specialization would be encouraged which would distinctly contribute to the very purpose of Higher Education.
To provide faculty and research support which would adequately give impetus to research scholars with knowledge advancement through various research programs in the defined disciplines.
It would lay the foundation of a University under the specific category of “de–nova” which would encourage endeavors in the emerging subjects of knowledge which does not follow the conventional methods of learning.
Especially those specific subjects would be identified for further research by the State or the Central Governments, fulfilling the national interest or preserve the cultural interest in coordinated efforts by the stalwarts of the field.
The avowed objective of Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust is to provide facility for an innovative higher education with a vocational bias.

History
The Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust initially took up the baton to spread education in the under-privileged areas of Pudukottai. Empowered with a vision to contribute to nation building. Shri. S. Regupathy. The foundation of their maiden venture namely, the J J College of Arts and Science at Pudukottai was laid. The Trust later on, decided to spread its wing and accordingly in 2001, the Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology was established in the green environment at Chengalpattu, away from the din of the metropolis. Sprawled in a 65 acre campus on the GST Road it is home to a community that embraces diversity and nurtures individual growth. Inspired by the success, in terms of spreading education and establishing social sustainability, the Trust came up with opening of Dental, Medical and Nursing, Pharmaceutical Sciences Colleges.

Research Activities and Zeal for Research and Development
The institutions established by the Trust continue to stretch themselves by setting ambitious academic goals and also confirm their position as one of the leading educational institutions as gauged by the teaching excellence and student satisfaction. They aim to focus on strengthening the research endeavor and to increase the number of staff actively engaged in research activity. This ambition will only be achieved by ensuring a deep link between thematic priorities in research and teaching mission; addressing issues of global relevance but with meaningful local impact on the social, economic and cultural life of the Nation. Faculty members of different Departments have published several books: KIMS faculty has published 12 books and that of KVCN has published 2; 288 Researches paper have been National and published in 317 International Journals from KIMS, KIDS has published, 186 papers is National and 83 papers in International Journals. The faculty members have attended several national and international conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops. Number of publications of Faculty of Dental Science is 269; Faculty of Medicine is 605 and Faculty of Nursing is 15. There is an ambience of looking deeper into various subjects and do in-depth research into every facet of the subject.
Forward Looking and Innovative Vision and Approach of Trustees
Issues such as educational attainment and access to higher education are central to the society must be maintained with focus on widening access. More broadly, Trust will continue to proactively contribute to the full spectrum of intellectual, economic, social and cultural life of India. The Trustees intend to develop workplace readiness balanced with lifelong skills and help to improve educational attainment and ambition particularly from communities that have previously been disengaged. The Trustee try to attain to harness the influence and expertise of the alumni network, honorary graduates, students and visiting scholars through sartorial networks and partnerships. The Trustees pride themselves to establish a purposeful network of both internal and external civic ambassadors, recognizing the mutual exchange of expertise.
The members of the Trust have identified specific branches of study to be introduced in the curriculum to be abreast of the progressive world. The introduction of the emerging subjects like Coastal Pharmaceutical Science, Preventive Health Science, and Nano Science in Regenerative Medicine, Bio-Bank and Complex Data Management, Artificial Intelligence in Translational Medicine would instill faster growth in the development of the Nation. Research and innovation would be encouraged in these fields to rub shoulders in the international community. Trustees have introduced traditional teaching processes and have supplemented them by innovative processes like Smart class room facilities, Mentoring System, competency based UG curriculum for Medical students, Faculty delivering the lecture using ICT tools etc. Even the evaluation system has been updated. At present, examinations are conducted by the respective state government affiliating university. It has planned for a dedicated examination wing (Department of Controller of Examinations) to be established for the proposed Deemed-to-be University. Necessary examinations by-laws are being prepared in accordance with the respective statutory council norms for the proposed Deemed-to-be University. Necessary Infrastructure for the Controller of Examinations will be established based on the requirements with latest technology available for the proposed Deemed-to-be University. The Trustees have provided seamless access to internet with adequate server support. They are blessed with a vision to take the mission forward and start these new disciplines and develop them as full blown departments which would eventually become Centre of Excellence.
Modernization of Education and Research
Modernization of higher education is deeply linked with increasing the interaction between business and the society at large. The operation of the Trust’s educational efforts is based on the high quality multidisciplinary research. It promotes research and academic education and provides higher education based on research. In the era of modernization there are various emerging changes which affect higher education are as ICT (Information and Communication technology): ICT in higher education is being used for developing course material, academic research, student enrolment, and teachers. ICT help to update knowledge according to the present scenario for the development in higher education. It is ICT which help both the teacher and students to have access to huge amount of information available across the world. Privatization and globalization of higher education is revolutionizing it too. Mobile phones or multi media have modernized methodologies to impart higher education.

Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences was established in the year 2007, Prides itself in being able to provide excellent venue for our students to excel in academic as well as extra-curricular activities. We have a 250 chaired dental hospital with all modern facilities to cater to the learning need of our students as well as provided excellent care for our patients as well.
Our students are taught basic medical sciences at our sister institute Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre which is also equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. There our 3rd year students are given extra care and outstanding training in basic medical knowledge.
Our house-surgeons are regularly serving the public by attending rural postings, community treatment camps, free treatment camps all the while gaining valuable experience and knowledge.

Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center, Maduranthagam, is spread over 30.76 acres of land on NH-45 (GST Road) at Maduranthagam catering Medical and Allied Health Sciences Courses at one place. The institute has well – established 650 bedded multi super speciality hospital with hi-tech infrastructure, facilities and modern equipments to treat the patients. It has state of art intensive medical, surgical, cardiac, neonatal and burns care unit,an ultra model operation theatre complex, well equipped Radiology and Imaging services 24 hours pharmacy, Infertility center, Haemodialysis center, Joint and replacement wing, Accident and emergency services to cater quality service and care to the needy population.Institute is recognized by MCI.

About Pharmaceutical Sciences
Karpaga Vinayaga Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences (KVIPS) was established in the year of 2023 by Karpaga Vinayaga Educational trust. The institute is adjacent to Karpaga Vinayaga Hospital having 650 bedded multi super specialties with hi-tech infrastructure facilities and modern equipments to treat the patients. The hospital facilitates the world class clinical training and exposure for the B.Pharm students. It is a great advantage for the students of KVIPS to develop themselves competent professionals and one more jewel stone in the crown of Karpaga Vinayaga Educational groups. The Institute has an exclusive central instrumentation room with advanced instruments, Scientific Laboratories, Machine room and biotechnology lab. The Laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated instruments viz. UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Brookfield Viscometers, Tablet Punching Machine, BOD Incubators, Tray dryer, Stability chamber, Rotary vacuum evaporator, Disintegration test apparatus, Dissolution test apparatus etc. The Institute also has a Computer laboratory with lease line/broadband internet facility, an excellent library with latest edition books, e-Journals and a Herbal Garden with around 200 Medicinal Plants.
