University Overview
KVELL (Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Lore for Learning) is a Deemed-to-be University recognized under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 , giving it the authority to design its own curriculum, set its own academic standards, and confer its own degrees, while operating under the same rigorous governance and academic oversight expected of any recognized Indian university.
KVELL is built around a simple conviction: some of the most important challenges in science, healthcare and technology today demand interdisciplinary education that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional degrees.
Established as a de novo Deemed-to-be University, KVELL has been created to nurture emerging fields of knowledge and design programmes that respond to the evolving needs of the industry and society.
The university is backed by the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust, which has over 25 years of experience in building and managing respected institutions in engineering, medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmaceutical sciences and a CBSE School. This strong legacy provides KVELL with an established academic ecosystem, experienced faculty, advanced research infrastructure and robust institutional governance from its very inception.
Today, KVELL brings together two constituent institutions under its academic umbrella: the College of Emerging Sciences , dedicated to pioneering interdisciplinary programmes in science and healthcare, and Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology (KVCET) , offering established engineering disciplines alongside future-focused technologies. Together, they reflect KVELL’s vision of combining academic excellence, research, innovation and real-world learning to prepare graduates for the challenges of tomorrow.
The School of Emerging Sciences offers undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, and Ph.D. programmes across core engineering disciplines and emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Robotics & Automation, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Engineering. Supported by advanced laboratories, a vibrant research and innovation ecosystem, industry collaborations, incubation initiatives, and interdisciplinary opportunities across the wider KVELL ecosystem, students develop strong technical expertise, critical problem-solving skills, and the confidence to create solutions that address the evolving needs of industry and society.
