Marine organisms have produced some of pharmaceutical research’s most promising bioactive compounds, and coastal India remains an underexplored source of them. This programme trains students in the discovery, development, and application of pharmaceutical compounds derived from coastal and marine resources, integrating pharmaceutical sciences, marine biology, biotechnology, medicinal chemistry, and natural product research. Students gain comprehensive knowledge of marine pharmacology, drug discovery, pharmaceutical biotechnology, analytical techniques, quality assurance, formulation development, and regulatory affairs, with field visits to coastal and marine research facilities built directly into the curriculum.
